“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. “You of little faith” He said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14: 28-33 NIV

Dear Supporters of Jeri’s House!
Keep the focus, right? When Peter took his eyes off Jesus and saw the wind, then he became afraid. Funny how he wasn’t afraid as long as his focus was on Jesus. That’s how we are a lot of times. We take our focus off Jesus and start staring at the circumstances around us that seem impossible. But, when we focus our faith on Jesus, all is ok. It wasn’t that the wind was a big sin, but rather a distraction. We certainly have a lot of that these days, right? So, this verse has touched my heart in such a deep way and has meant so much to me in setting up Jeri’s House!
Before I share the information about our grand opening, I need to give a huge shout out to the folks that helped make it all possible! My Support Service Provider Jenese Tucker who is literally my “eyes and ears!” My right hand, Beth Escher who is my part time secretary and houseparent! My maintenance man and one of our board members Roger Smith and his wife Beverly! And my best friend Kathy Shelton! Could not have done this without their excellent support! Thanks guys!
Our grand opening Saturday October 23, 2021 was a huge success! We had about 50 people come tour the house and enjoy some great snacks and see old friends and meet new ones, too. Everyone said they loved the place and had a really nice time.
Debbie Eagle, a representative of Scentsy was here selling some great Scentsy products. Through the Scentsy fundraiser she raised $100 for Jeri’s House! We are so thankful to her and Scentsy for spending the day with us! And to her husband, Justin, for jumping in and helping wherever necessary!
Faye Miller was the winner of the $200 gift card! She graciously donated the money back to Jeri’s House! How thoughtful! We have the best supporters!
With various donations, t-shirt sales and Scentsy fundraiser Jeri’s House received $937! What a wonderful blessing! And it’s because of you, our supporters! Thank you so very much to each and everyone of you for being a part of this very special day! When I put my Mama’s ring on that morning, I started crying! I was so happy and thankful to God and her for allowing me to be in this place!
Without getting into all the legal jargon, plans have changed a little as far as how we are purchasing the houses. Mother Miriam with Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s Hope (501©3) cannot sell the houses to us as originally stated so they have reduced the total cost to $150,000 for both houses! We are now taking out a mortgage loan to buy the houses. So prayerfully consider donating to help us make this purchase possible. I know God will make a way!
Our plans are to train more Support Service Providers and volunteers, start having monthly socials, classes every month and finalize details so residents can move in. It’s a growing time for all! We are still having our Murder Mystery in Oklahoma City hopefully around Valentine’s Day, so be on the look out for details!
Remember and keep the focus and faith on Christ! Together we can overcome so much! We continually pray for you and appreciate your support more than you’ll ever know! If you ever hear of someone having both a vision and hearing loss, feel free to call or email with any questions on how we may be of service!
God bless you!
